Migrant Action Trust - Welcome
Migrant Action Trust is about empowering migrants and refugees to reach their goals for a better life as they make this country their home and become part of the countrys growth.
Our main goal is for migrants to become assets of New Zealand.
Our specific objectives are:
- provide an understanding of living in New Zealand and what the Treaty of Waitangi says about migrants
- encourage self-help towards economic productivity and be part of the community
- promote participation in the New Zealand democracy especially in issues directly affecting migrants
- develop programmes and/or cooperate with other groups to assist the settlement of migrants and refugees
- promote the contribution of migrants to New Zealand
- encourage migrants to help other migrants
